Prevent that modified date is set when value formula has been changed

Hi smartsheet,

 

this would be very helpful: Make formulas configurable, if modified date is set, when resulting value is changed, or not.

 

Background (as an example):

 We use a date formula called "relevance" with the result "today" for specific combinations of start dates, end dates and status.

 This "relevance date" is extremely helpful in reports, where it can be used be as an easy "when" filter - and the "what" filter is free for other complexe combinations.

The Modified date is a System field and will allways change when the record changes.  You would need to structure something out of another date field and a check box that would either enter a datr into the field or not depending on the tickbox.
