Ways to import data

Hello everyone,

Do you know what are all the possibilities to import data from an excel file in Smartsheet ?

Until now I know only 2 ways to import data from excel :

1. Take an excel file and transform it into a sheet manually
2. Use Data Uploader to import automatically data from an excel file

In my use case, I would need to import data in a sheet in Smartsheet, and with this sheet I would create links that will updates data in several other sheets. Is there a way I can do this without using Data Uploader ?

I've developed solutions for clients where we use what I call an Import Sheet. The data is structured in the sheet and then linked/used for the project or similar.

Make sense?

Thank you for your answer, could you explain me more about the process concerning thsi import sheet ?

Because in my case each time I import an excel sheet, I loose all my links that I created on previous import sheets

You'd need to paste the information manually, so if it will work for your use-case depends on the structure of the data.
