Counting the Number of times certain text appears in a Column

Hello!

I need assistance to create Sheet Summary items to count all of the instances where certain Unit Code(s) is listed in a column. Some codes can be combined with others (C1 + C2) vs by themselves (C2).

So, to start I need to count the number of times Unit Code "C2" is listed/mentioned. Eventually I will also need to capture the times other instances/combinations are listed as well. I have a few Sheet Summary items created to represent these options.

I have searched and tried different formulas, but nothing seems to get to the result I'm looking for.

I've added the following formula to your sheet.

=COUNTIF([UNIT CODE(S)]:[UNIT CODE(S)], CONTAINS("C2", @cell))

Did that work as expected?

=COUNTIF([UNIT CODE(S)]:[UNIT CODE(S)], CONTAINS("C2", @cell))

What about counting different info in the same column ... example, I need to count all instances of "C1" and all instances of "C2" in a column ... I tried the formula below but it is not returning the correct numbers:

=COUNTIFS([UNIT CODE]:[UNIT CODE], CONTAINS("C1", @cell), [UNIT CODE]:[UNIT CODE], CONTAINS("C2", @cell))
