Metadata sheet pulling data from 40 project plans into 1 dashboard?

I am working with sheets, already created. There's 1 project plan and several sheet i.e. a RAID log and a Decision log that go along with each project. Then there is a metadata sheet (1 per project) that pulls info from the project plan and calculates it and then it gets displayed in a dashboard.

The lastest ask is a metadata sheet that pulls from all 40 project plans and displays into a dashboard similar to the project dashboards. I can't even imagine what the calculations are going to be like - is there a limit to the conditions that can be calculated?

Anyone have any experience with something similar?

Reports can pull from multiple sources, so you could have a report that pulls from all 40 meta data sheets for reporting across all 40.

I've done roll up calculation sheets for 8-12 projects. It wouldn't be much different to do something similar for 40, but you'd need to manually update the sheet when you add or remove a project. The Control Center app takes all the manually work out of doing this type of work, but it can be done without it.

What sort of things do they want to display for each project on the master dashboard?

There are multiple ways to structure this.

Report (Row or Summary) that shows the relevant data
Cell-linking the individual project meta sheets to the Master Meta sheet
Cross-sheet formulas to collect everything to the master

I was over thinking and your answers helped. I created both a meta data sheet, cell-linking and reports to create the workstream dashboards and then created more reports but reused the metadata sheet for the portfolio dashboard.
