Hello there,

Resource allocation is expected to be performed by Human, Machine, and Material. In SmartSheet, we have Human resource allocation. How we can do it for other resources; Machine and Material.

You can add any resource you need by using and inviting it with any email address. It doesn't have to be a real address because it doesn't need to be verified.

Something like.

machine1@domain.com

Make sense?

Thank you for your advice. Yes it works, however, I am really expecting SmartSheet provide a better solution for this subject. It is an important element of "Resource Management" which SmartSheet is covering and bolding as a dominant feature.

I totally agree, we have a similar issue where I cannot easily manage equipment. Creating a dummy email address seems like a workaround to a gap.

But this will not show in resource management tracker. How to address this issue.

One alternative could be leveraging Smartsheet’s Data Shuttle (if available to you) to automate data imports for these resources. If you're open to integrations, building a custom solution through Bridge or APIs might also address your needs for automation and accurate reporting.
