Data not updated in dashboard

Data in sheet is not being updated/visible in dashboard. I manually refreshed and even set auto-refresh every minute, but the updated data is still not showing in dashboard.

Hi Andrée, thank you for the quick response. I just figured out what happened! The "modified" data would be updated for the same data set. However, if the data is "new, it would not get updated.

I create some test data in the "test sheet".

Go to dashboard. Select Add Widget and Metric to display the data from the "test sheet". The test sheet data is now displayed on the dashboard as shown below.

If I go back to the "test sheet" and made any of the changes to the existing data, the dashboard would be updated accordingly. However, if I added new data, for ex: TASK 4 in my "test sheet", dashboard would not get updated - TASK 4 is not showing on dashboard.

Is this by design or is there something else I needed to do?

It's by design!

It has to be linked/added to the dashboard to be able to show up.

You could maybe add placeholders and then update the data as needed.
