Can items be set to reoccur on a set cadence in a Smartsheet calendar?

Can I set up recurring items in a calendar like a monthly newsletter or does each instance require a manual entry?

If you're wanting to add tasks to the Calendar View of your sheet in Smartsheet, then each entry will need to be present as a row in the sheet. Although this does mean that each instance requires an entry into the sheet / its own row, you can easily create patterns with a date field by using drag-fill (see here).

For example, if you wanted the date to occur every Monday, fill in two rows with two Mondays in a row. Then select both those cells, and use drag-fill to fill in the dates in the rows below. This will auto-fill using the pattern you set up in the first two rows (Mondays, one week apart), and will update the rest of the rows with the next Mondays

    Ex:

Now, if there is only one task that needs to be updated each week, you could potentially build a formula into that Date cell in order to have it update each week to a different day of the week, depending on what date today is, but then the task would only ever appear once in your Calendar, and it would change location/date each week.

Let me know if this makes sense or if you have any more questions!

    Cheers,

    Genevieve
