Locking a Sum Formula

Hello -

I am wanting to lock a sum formula and am not sure exactly how. Do I need to add additional aspects to the formula beside the "$"? The issue is people are moving items around in their timesheets which adjusts the below formulas and I want to make sure if they do this, the formula will not change.

Below are the two types of formula I am trying to lock.

=SUM({Chandra Time Tracker Range 3})

=SUM({Bridget's Timekeeping Range 2} + {Maria's Timesheet Range 3} + {Chandra Time Tracker Range 17})

Yes, but you'll need criteria to the formula so it knows what it should reference.

If possible, I’d recommend making the formula a column formula, and then it won't break.

Would that work/help?

Hello,

Can I make it a column formula if each cell within that column may contain different references?

For Example:

Row 1 may be referencing Maria's timesheet

Row 2 may be referencing Bridget's timesheet

Row 3 may be referencing Maria's, Bridget's, and Logan's timesheet
