update 1 sheet based on changing key

Hey there,

We are a manufacturing company that are managing lots of different parts in smartsheet serials etc.. which are not always stay the same.

we currently have 2 sheets on the same product which each of them is managed by a different person.

We are trying to update 1 sheet based on the key on the other sheet, but the key could be a bit different in both sheets and then smartsheet can't match between those id's. (as you can see in the images below it's 1 letter change).

we would love to find a solution that can update the sheet and show it in a report ( hyperlink won't work for us)

would love to hear any suggestions

Is the sheet structured the same? If yes, you could use a row ID to ”match” instead.

Me and @Tom Wininger work together.

The sheets are not structured same - they have little difference but they are talking about the same product.

As tom wrote i try to generate a report based on two different sheets BUT most of the column from one sheet and only one or two from the second.

for example:

Item A in first sheet shows the Lead time, PO list, etc.

Item A in the seconde sheet shows the fabrication process such as "in process" or "Done" , etc.

i want to generete a report that shows the each item whether has finished fabrication.

this is required in order to send a report to clients. and it's not possible to create the report from the second sheet beacuse not all info is there such as (PO date, PO number, etc)
