Send Update Request and ask for an attachment

Hi, I am hoping I can send an update request to an existing row and then ask for an attachment somehow? Any ideas??

From the workflow editor, click the 3 vertical dots on the right side of the send update box. Select Advanced Options. In fields to display select An Attachment along with the other fields you want the person receiving the update to access.

Hi @Mark Cronk . Thanks for taking the time to look at this for me. I was wanting to send an update request by right-clicking on a row and sending the request via email. It will be going to different people and I would include different cells. Do I have to do a workflow to accomplish this?

If you request an update using the right click option from your sheet, the update form the recipient gets allows them to upload an attachment.

Using a workflow is best if there's logic to the reason you want an update because it's automatic. Everytime a criteria is met the automation fires. No need for you to trigger each line.

You can do it manually or maybe add one or multiple so-called helper columns that could trigger an update request workflow.

Hello @Mark Cronk I did a test and emailed myself on personal email account an update request with a few columns from my row and when I received the email and open the form, there was nowhere to add an attachment.

I do see how I can attach documents in the workflow. I guess that is what we will have to do to get updated documents.

Not sure what's happening. Near the bottom of the Send Update Request is a "Include" section. Select "Edit" and select the "attachments" field.

When you open the update form you should see a field to upload files. I sent a test to myself and it appeared.

When I try to click the 3 vertical dots to access the advance settings to find the "display select An Attachment along with the other fields you want the person receiving the update to access." All I see is a "change action" option. Do you mind taking a look and letting me know what I am doing wrong? Thank you. I need the responsible party to upload the new certification along with updating the fields.

I am having the same problem as JGriffin - I am not able to see where I can include a space for the recipient to upload an attachment in the update request. I did click into the area you indicated, but all that shows up are the fields in my Smartsheet. I need for the recipient to be able to update the fields and upload an attachment. I'm not sure how to accomplish this.
