Allow only the 'Contact' to edit their Row

Hello all,

With our team to looking to return to the office, we thought a simple dashboard to track where each team-member is located would be useful (similar to https://www.simpleinout.com/en-au).

One final improvement would be to only allow the individual listed in the Name column to update their location(s). Is there a way to allow access to only one row of data per person?

Hope you are fine, you can't give permission by row for individual listed in the Name column to update their location but you can use deferent You can take a different approach to solve this problem, you can design automation to send daily update request by contact name ( you need to add a column type contact contain your employee Email ) and each user will update his information daily without have any access to your main sheet.

A solution that would be perfect for this use-case is the premium add-on, Dynamic View.

Is that an option?

Thanks all for your assistance. @Bassam.M Khalil I will look to utilise the Contact List as a starting point and build some automation around it. Great idea.

@Andrée Starå - at this time we don't use the Dynamic View, but I'll do some reading up on it.
