Using Today function as a start and end date in smartsheets?

I want to use "today" as the start and end dates on a smartsheet (it will be milestone tracking today's date)

It seems to work fine when the column is defined as "date" (I can hover over the cell and see the formula), however, if the field is date/time (attached), I don't see the formula - just the current date.

How can I ensure or how do I get the column for date/time set to today?

Hi @DEW

The issue is that you can’t use formulas in the Date Columns set in the Project Settings when Dependencies are activated.

In a project sheet, you can enable automated dependency functionality in the following columns:

• Start and End Date
• Duration
• % Complete
• Predecessors

NOTE: Formulas aren't allowed in the columns listed above when dependencies are enabled.

There might be a possibility to use the Smartsheet API or a 3rd party solution.
