Metrics from multiple sheets
Hello,
I'm trying to create a high level metric that sums the number of tasks in 10 different sheets. I tried to do a summary sheet, but that only summarizes the tasks in a report format. I want to roll those up into a total metric on a dashboard. Here's some snippets: (Sheet 1 and Sheet 2).
I tried doing a summary sheet, and from there did a metrics sheet.
End result: On the dashboard I'd want "Total Tasks completed, Total tasks in progress".

Ok. Yes, there isn't a way to cross-sheet reference a Sheet Summary field at the moment.
You'd need to add the values somewhere else in the sheet instead.
I'd recommend using a specific section in each sheet and then use cell-linking to collect the information to the Master Metric Sheet.
Make sense?
Would that work?

You can count, sum, or whatever you need on another cell/row in a so-called Master Metrics Sheet and then use that for the dashboard.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

I thought so, but the problem is when I create a metrics master, it won't allow me to reference a summary sheet. so then the formula would have to be Sum(sheet 1, sheet 2, sheet 3) etc.
It's ok for now, but as I create more projects it will have a chance for errors.
I wish I could say "sum (reference summary sheet report).
Won't let you do that on a master metrics sheet.

It would, I was just trying to get around it. If you end up having too many sheets, then there is potential for errors.
Thanks for the recommendations!
