Form dropdown multi select limits?

Is there a way to offer multi-select options from a dropdown, but limit the selections to say choosing 3 from the multi-select list?

Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment

As a possible workaround, you could count the options selected, show a message and change the color if they are exceed or similar.

Would that work/help?
