Is there a way to create a horizontal timeline for milestones based on the Gantt view data?

Unfortunately, as far as I know, it's not possible now, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment

As a possible workaround, you could use the 3rd party integration, Office Timeline.

Yes, I can create this type of chart in Visio also, but was looking for a way to have the Gantt tied directly to the timeline eliminating the need to manually create/update.

Office Timeline is integrated, or at least it was when I last used it, but I agree it would be much better if it were part of Smartsheet.

Maybe we'll see some improvements with the new design that is coming next year.

Yes, I was able to download the add-on to PPT and then saw the ability to drop-in Smartsheet Gantt data.
