Sheets are "disappearing" from Recently Opened when I link them between sheets

No one else in my company is experiencing this issue (so they say) but it's become SUPER annoying.

I typically work from my "Recently Opened" left-hand panel. I have one general projects sheet that many of us work from, then my separate, individual sheets for each project.

When I link a row from one of the individual project sheets to the main general projects sheet, the individual projects sheet automatically disappears from the Recently Opened panel.

Is this happening to anyone else? How can I fix this?
