Reporting with on Sheets with Common Row Value

I love the functionality of creating roll-up reports that incorporate multiple sheets that have the same columns. What I can't figure out, and feel as though should be a possibility though is the ability to create a roll up report that combines sheets that have only ONE column in common.

For example, let's say I am combining two sheets. One that is a data warehouse of our CRM and one that is a data warehouse of a partner's CRM. Both reports have a column for ID and I use this to do vlookups across both sheets.

Now what would be amazing is to have the ability to combine both of these sheets into a report using the ID as the common denominator. I feel as though this should be in the realm of possibility and maybe I'm not seeing something?

Any insight is much appreciated! -Devon

There's no way to do a "join" between 2 sheets in a report based on a common field. Reports will only append data from the one sheet to the next.... so rows from 1 sheet will show separately from rows from the 2nd sheet.

@MCorbin actually this is a fundamental function that is needed in smartsheet, which is kinda sad that feature is not available given that we are automating a lot of reporting file just to find out that we are not able to generate a report.

furthermore, it would be nice if smartsheet could integrate a barcoding system that reads value instead of barcode. ie. for batch work in progress materials.
