Can we limit the characters inputted in a cell?

for example: limit it to only 10 characters

Please submit this as a Product Feedback or Idea (If it hasn't been added already) when you have a moment.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

• Add a counter or/and a message/conditional formatting to show in another cell for information.

Sadly, it doesn't solve my concern :(

I am using a form to get the ID number (10 numbers) of the employee. I want to minimize the mistake of typing less than or more than 10.

Also, for the phone number validation, is there a way to add another country?

Jumping in to add another use case and didn't want to ask a question that looks like doesn't have a solution.

I have a fillable pdf that autogenerates after all cells are completed. The issue I have is that the fillable pdf doesn't wrap text to fit the box size I created. And with 4000 possible characters, some of my pdf spacing allows only 100 (or less!). We should be able to either limit the cell charater limit to match the pdf or have pdf wrap text -- or both :)

Hello - is the 4,000 a total for the cell including history? So for the life of the cell it can't exceed 4,000? Or, for example, can you have multiple 3,999 character posts to a cell over the life of the cell, all of which will appear in the cell history?

I'm not aware of any limits on the cell history. The 4000-character limit applies to any cell at any time.
