Does Smartsheet allow you to create tabs similar to Excel?

Unfortunately, it's not possible anymore (they used to have that feature in an old design).

As a possible workaround, you could use the browser's tabs instead.

I usually open a collection of sheets in the browser by opening a bookmarks folder.

So this means that when I imagine tabs in MS Excel, this means individual sheets in Smartsheets?

Basically, yes, but sometimes the Excel solution can be combined in one or a few sheets instead.
