Fillable forms change formatting when generated.
Hi,
I am generating a form with lots of data in it. I made the form on Adobe Indesign. I defined all the formats for the text (e.g. sizes and fonts.) Then, after generating the fillable PDF, when opening the form on Acrobat, All the fonts are set to Minion Pro and the size changes too.
I tried to change the fallback font on Acrobat but it didn't work.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Wolfram

Happy to help!
Strange!
I'd be happy to take a quick look.
Can you maybe share the PDF files? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)

Figured it out! The font adjusts to the size of the field box you insert in Adobe and totally disregards the font size. To fix this, open the PDF with "Prepare form" and select the field. Next, right-click the field Properties and go to the "Position" tab. Then decrease "Height".
You can select multiple fields, right-click -> Properties -> Position -> Height and specify a height so all are set to the same height.
Hope this helps!

I've found I get the best result in Acrobat Pro.
Can you maybe share some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)
I hope that helps!

Hello @Andrée Starå ,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I designed the form on indesign, then convert it to a PDF on Acrobat Pro DC.
Here is what happens. This is part of the indesign document with the correct formatting.
This is what I get after exporting it to Adobe PRO DC:
And finally this is what I get after putting it through the Smartsheet Document Builder:
As you can see, the formatting changed and even the positioning of the fillable fields changed, though I think I can work around that last part. What I really can't figure out is the formatting. I feel like I'm missing something small. Or maybe not.
Thanks again for your support, Andree!
