Send an email when assigned task

It does not appear so. You can set date reminders that will email contact columns, but the notification on something changing does not appear to allow you to notify contact columns in your report. That is a shame.

Adam, did you happen to find a work around or alternate way of doing this. We're having the same need and would like to automate this type of notification.
Thanks,
Marco Sanchez

Check out the NEW Advanced Notifications feature, You are able to include an email, and show specific columns in the notification. Plus you can now set up specific notifications based on multiple criteria. So if a user gets added to the contact list column, then you can send a notification to that user. Is there a way to show in Smartsheet when we send out a task that the opposite partner has opened the email or task assigned? I know I can see if they completed the assigned task but would like to see if they have opened the initial communication. Thanks.

Hi,
There is currently no way of tracking when an email sent from Smartsheet has been opened. When you have a moment, please fill out our Product Enhancement Request form.
Thanks!
