Task duration as a function of the task Allocated %

Hello!,

Can task duration be calculated as a function of the allocation percentage?

If one person is allocated 100% for one week then being allocated at 50% the task should take two weeks, etc.

Another case may also be useful. If one person is allocated 100% for three weeks then allocating 300% the task should take one week, etc. This option allows a quick What If resource allocation answer.

I'd appreciate suggestions on how to do this.

Hi @Michael Wilson,

I really like this idea of having a link between Duration values and Allocation percentages but without being able to create formulas in Dependency Columns, I'm not sure of the best way to go about this type of setup. I highly recommend Submitting a Product Enhancement Request to see about implementing this type of connection in a future release or for allowing formulas in project columns on dependency-enabled sheets.

What's the work around? I have seem posts concerning this issue on the forums that go back to 2015.
