Is it possible to populate a dropdown field with values from a column in a sheet using a formula?

Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment

As a workaround, a solution that could be perfect for this use-case is the premium add-on, Data Uploader.

Is that an option?

Just a note so you don't get the wrong solution. It's Data Uploader that can be used for dropdown lists.
