IF/Then Using Color Status

Hello,

I am trying to figure out a formula to signal the following = if the status is red, then same row under the data column should populate to the number 1, if status is yellow, then the same row under the data column should populate to the number 2, etc.

I have no idea where to start...help!

Is it for one row only?
