Importing Excel Sheet

Hi ,

If I add an existing Excel sheet that has VBA coding to import info from another document, will it still work once it's imported into Smartsheet or will I have to re-import it each time there is an update.

Unfortunately, you'll need to re-import it.

A solution that would be perfect for this use-case is the premium add-on, Data Uploader.

Is that an option?

Yes, you will need to re-import it as Andree states, but at SBP we have developed an Excel add-in as part of our Suite of Smarter Controls 4 Smartsheet (SC4S) that will allow you to push the data from Excel again into the SAME Smartsheet rather than having to import into a new sheet each time and redo any stats at the Smartsheet end.

We built this app in response to clients needing to update a set of imported data without having to re-set up the Smartsheet end each time.

Also, I have just watched some elearning on Data Uploader. This is a premium app within Smartsheet and would also give you the functionality of scheduling the merge with your excel source file and updating values in existing rows, where the source file has changed.
