Purging old data
Good day all,
I was wondering what happens when you move rows from one sheet to another that has reached its 20 000 max rows?
Basically my Workflow copies rows at the beginning of each month to a sheet for historical data.
Just before the above workflow happens, I move all the rows from the historical data sheet to another as there is no way to automate deletion of rows.
I do not care about the rows that is moved, as those rows are no longer relevant, but I would like to confirm whether the historical data sheet will keep removing the rows that it is moving and the sheet that it is moved to will just not accept the rows, or will the workflow cease to run?
Thanks.

Happy to help!
One way to do it.
- Add an Auto-Number System Column.
- Add a workflow with an alert when the Auto-Number is reached for the limit you want to be notified of.
Make sense?

When you reach the limit, it will not let you run the workflow, or you'll get an error message.
I'd recommend setting up a workflow to let you know that limit is closing in or/and set up a workflow that moves the rows from the archive to another archive sheet or something similar.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Thanks for the response Andrée.
How would I setup the workflow to notify me that the limit is closing in?

Thank you.
I have implemented the workflow to alert when ROWID is greater than 15 000.
I'll monitor and see if it works.
