Displaying Row Hierarchy in Reports
I'm using Reports to show action items consolidated from 4 different sheets and assigned to individuals (separate report for each assignee).
I would like to maintain the row hierarchy in the report so that the parent row shows when one of its daughter rows is displayed as an uncompleted action item. I am maintaining the hierarchy now by adding a column on the sheet showing level and then including that in the Report (0 for parent, 1,2,3 for daughters). This helps to differentiate parent from child and as long as filters are not used, will maintain the proper hierarchical structure... but lacks the visual impact you can get from indented rows.
I realize that row hierarchy is not transferred to reports but is there a work around that could get me closer to the sheet structure and look for inclusion in a report.

Happy to help!
You could add a so-called helper column that shows the parent row information/name, and then if you filter by that, it will be connected. You could also have a helper column showing the complete hierarchy if needed.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?

I hope you're well and safe!
You could maybe use conditional formatting to make it more clear if it's a parent or not.

Thank you Andree.
I have applied conditional formatting also to color code parent rows. That does add a more visual punch. Really wanted to have them linked so that a filtering process does not ruin the hierarchy.
