Grouped Reports with multi-select dropdowns

Apparently there is no way to group reports by columns that are multi-select dropdowns. Is there any workaround for this?

    You're correct, currently Grouping in Reports is available for single-select dropdown lists. Please let our Product Team know about your feedback and what you'd like to see through this form, here.

    Can you explain your process a little more? It would be helpful to see screen captures of your source sheet (but please block out any sensitive data). We may be able to figure out an indicator (likely using a formula in a helper column in the sheet) based on the multi-select options that you can then use to Group.

  • I am looking to group a customer column as well. I changed the column to a single drop down column however, now the customer names are not populating in the report. Will it take effect moving forward? I am trying to summarize hours spent on each customer, so this would be really nice to be able to summarize and group by customer.

    You'd need to add the column (new) again and remove the old one. The column type change makes it a new column.
