How can I return a value - in this case Request ID in the email or form submission?

You can set up an Automated Workflow to send an alert, and by using the Placeholder feature, you can include the Request ID and more.

Thanks that does make sense, was just hoping there was a way with the included email notification to put in placeholder. The other method mentioned should work, so I will use it.
