New records not being auto added in reference sheet
Hi all.
Fairly new user here.
I have a Smartsheet form that we have users fill out and the results go to a "smart" sheet. Call it Sheet A. We then have another sheet, Sheet B, that references certain columns in Sheet A. I was under the impression that any new records submitted into Sheet A would automatically move over into Sheet B. IS this not the case. I have noticed that new records in Sheet A are not being moved into Sheet B automatically. Enlighten me.
Thanks, Shawn

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Are you using formulas on Sheet B to calculate various metrics for Sheet A? If that is the case, then you do not need to pull any rows over from A to B. You should be able to set up your formulas with cross sheet references.
If you are in fact trying to pull actual data over from A to B, then yes, you will need either an automation or some helper columns/formulas to pull the data values over.

How are they supposed to be moved? Are you using a Move or Copy Row Automation or formulas?

I assumed they moved automatically since I'm using a column reference. Is that not the case?

Not necessarily. Are you using formulas or an automation to move them over?

I wasn't using anything. I did try to setup a workflow to copy them over but the sheet name was not available in the list of available sheets. Now that this has been brought to light, I have to rethink my strategy. I didn't want to touch my Sheet A by adding in new columns with formulas. THanks for the help.

Thanks. Yes, I am trying to pull actual data from A to B for the purpose of not touching anything in Sheet A. I will rethink my strategy.
