How can you quickly see column properties?

How can you quickly see column properties without drilling down into "Edit Column Properties"?

I need to check data types of a few new columns that someone added to quite a few data files. They seem to have defaulted to dropdown but need to be text/number. I seem to remember this being easier without having to drill down so much.
