Folder-level permissions

Is it possible to have folders under one workspace and set them with different sharing permissions? Preference would be to create a folder for a project (rather than a workspace) but it looks like permissions to folders are shared from the workspace-level and can't be modified.

Unfortunately, it's not possible now to share folders, but it's an excellent idea!

I can't believe after 2 years this is still not implemented. It is beyond frustrating to change permissions on an item and have it change workspace permissions for that individual. If there's one reason I'll have our company switch from Smartsheet, this will be it.
