Reference text-formatted cell in date-formatted cell

Hello - trying to understand if there is a way to configure the WORKDAY function to allow the "num_days" piece of the formula to accept a reference to a text cell. Right now I am receiving the INVALID DATA TYPE error. Appreciate any assistance in producing the correct formula.

Yes. Try this...

=WORKDAY([Column7]2, VALUE([Column Name]3))

Just change the cell reference inside of the VALUE function to the actual call you want to reference.

Make sure that [Column7] is set as a date type column. If it is set as a date type column and still throwing that error, how exactly is that column being populated?

Column 7 is set as a date type column. Below is a screenshot of the simple equation being used to calculate the value I am trying to reference in [Column4]. All referenced cells in the equation in [Column4] are text columns as well.

@Paul Newcome my assumption is that the issue is in the layering of other text-formatted cells in [Column4]. If I remove the equation from [Column4] and just provide a random number the error goes away.

Any suggestions based on that feedback if I need the equation to be present in [Column4]?

Are you able to provide a screenshot of everything including the column headers?

For data security purposes, I've renamed the headers of each data point. Hopefully this is still helpful. In Column 2 there are links to other spreadsheets where data is being derived.

Exactly how is the date populated in [Column7]2?

[Column7]2 = TODAY()

[Column7]4 and [Column7]6 are both manual entries

Can you provide a screenshot of the column properties for Column7?

Since you are entering an actual date value into a date type column and an actual numerical value into a text/number column and still getting the error, I would suggest reaching out to Support.
