Can a column/row (box) be linked to a specific day within a timeline range?
We currently use grid where each box/column in a row is a day and each box is a color that is associated with a stage in the process. It's a make shift gantt that's not idea for updating when the actual timeline changes. I'm hoping that we can create a similar sheet in smartsheet where it links to timelines and adjusts automatically.
I know we can link cells and have the dates show, but is it possible to have a linked date range show up in as many boxes as length of days?
Here's an example of the current sheet in excel:
I made the below chart in smartsheet which is a bit of a work around and not actually a gantt at all, but open to suggestions!
Thanks!

Instead of separate columns for each stage, I suggest rows for each stage indented under the main project row for each project. You can then set up duration and predecessors and leverage the built in Gantt view within Smartsheet.
You can use conditional formatting to adjust colors as needed including the bars on the Gantt Chart.
