Update Request from a customer not shared to the sheet

Good evening, I need to somehow send a client an update request so they can upload a PDF and Pictures to a specific row but NOT giving them access to the entire row. I see how to limit which cells I send the request. I have tried setting up a automated request but it would give them access to files that may already be on that row. It seems to work better if I send the request manually but it still gives access to pre-existing files.

Once the requested files are uploaded, I would need the link to expire for that request.

Is there a way to accomplish this?

    Hi @J Smith

I hope you're well and safe!

The main issue is that you can't add files with an Update Request without showing what is already on the row.

The link would expire when it's submitted.

Unfortunately, it's not possible now, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

    • Multiple rows, so you'd use a new one not to include the attachments
    • Would that work/help?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Andree, Thank you for your reponse!

This could work. My Focus is heavily on Automation. When a form is filled out it ads a single row with the appropriate data. Is there a process to have this sheet ad this extra row or maybe a hierarchy? I need to try an avoid having to manually ad rows/data around as much as possible. The goal is request authorization from an admin that triggers all the data movement through Automation.

    Thoughts?
