Can character limits be added to Text fields?

I have a free text comments field in a sheet, but I want to limit the number of characters people can enter into it. This is to try to keep comments brief and to the point.

Is it possible?

You're more than welcome!

You would add the message to the sheet (Grid) by adding a formula.

=IF(Text@row >= 100, "Limit Reached. Please use less characters")

Unfortunately, it's not possible now, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

• You could show a message when they are getting close or exceed the limit.
