Can you hide Columns with Filters?

Short question: can you show specific Columns with a Filter, and thereby also hide certain Columns with a Filter?

Long question: the purpose of this is to combine to separate sheets into one. They have relevant information to each other, however the columns in the different sheets are vastly different. Initially I thought to make a third "master-sheet" that links to each sheet. However, since you can't link "End Dates" to another sheet when you have dependencies enabled, I concluded combining the sheets into one was the best course of action (please correct me if I am mistaken). But as I mentioned, they have only certain columns that are relevant to each other, so I need a way to filter the irrelevant columns out.

Unfortunately, it's not possible now to filter columns in a sheet, but it's an excellent idea!

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

• Use reports instead

Hello, thank you for the quick answer. Will submit a request. However, reports won't work as I need the sheets to interact (with dependencies)

No offense to the fine people at Smartsheet and brilliant consultants like Andrée, but the inability to filter columns is absurd.

With so many other tools supporting column filtering by way of "views", I still don't understand why Smartsheet pushes reports instead. It's an inefficient, clumsy work around, and to non-power users, it's confusing as well.

Is this even on the roadmap for Smartsheet??? Does anyone know?
