Sort Question

We use our smartsheet like a "ticketing" system for tasks. Several people all over the organization put in tickets that flow to the worklist set up for the team completing. When the tasks come in we want the list to be sorted by a date field, however, you have to constantly "refresh" to get the items to sort correctly. Is this how it should operate? When the task hits the worksheet I would have assumed it would have fallen in the order the sheet was sorted?
