Dashboard Data Filtering

Hello,

I have created a dashboard that collects results from a scorecard that is designed to be filled out by periods (12months), quarters (1, 2, 3,4) and year to date. Is it possible to create a filter on the dashboard where you can select to view information being displayed by either the period or quarter? If yes how does one go about doing this? Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

No, there currently isn't a functionality to be able to apply a filter to an entire Dashboard and only display partial information (please let the Product team know about your request by filling in this form, here).

If you have Chart Widgets on your Dashboard, you can click on elements in the Legend of the Chart which will temporarily cross them out and only show you the other values:

    To:

This would be a manual option and is only available via Chart Widgets.

An alternative would be to create multiple Dashboards showing the different ways of gathering your data, then having one "master" Dashboard with links out to the different views depending on what your user wants to see. Does that make sense?

    Cheers,

    Genevieve

It's been ~2 years since this question was posed, and we still can't dynamically filter dashboards. The solution is to create a view for each area we need to display (which is not maintainable) ...

When will dynamic filters be available in dashboards? Otherwise - we're porting the data into Tableau to allow for filtering (and trending data), which could be more optimal...

I am also wondering if/when dashboard filters will be available?

If you are using Dynamic View, you can filter reports and sheets from the dashboard. Each report needs to be filtered, rather than a single filter for the whole dashboard.
