Dynamically Updating Dashboard Using Forms

  • Hey, I can see that this is quite an old post. I'm trying to update a dashboard from the top row of a sheet which is filled out using a form. The form sends data to the top row of the sheet. I want that new data to dynamically fill out my dashboard. Currently, it sticks to the row I first set it up with, rather than updating with top row data.

I'm wondering if this feature is available.

    Hi,

    following on this subject,

I have a sheet that lists the Zip Codes, Cities, and Counties,

Then I have another sheet that contains a form of the zip code column, and the other columns "Lookup" the City and County based on the Zip Code,

Then I have a sheet summary, and the sheet summary is also on a dashboard that calculates the latest entry on the sheet,

Then I have a form on the dashboard to submit a new request,

Is there any way that as soon as the form is submitted the data should be updated without needing to click on refresh or wait the minute until the dashboard updates?

    Thank you,

  • Hi @A Rose

In this instance I would suggest clicking "Refresh" or waiting for a minute or two for the data to sync. A few minutes delay is to be expected with connections like this.

Thank you for sharing your set-up and process!

    Hi,

I ended up using the sheet itself which is only for this purpose and updates immediately, And I locked most rows and columns except for the top row and the Zip Code column.

    Thanks,

  • Hi @Andrée Starå

Can you answer this for me too? I want the metric widget on my dashboard to pull the top line submission from my form.
