Access Hidden Confidential Data

I need to "hide" employee salary data. I would like to have a separate grid spreadsheet with the data in it, I have locked the cells. When I link to the cells from another sheet, the actual amount shows up. How can I hide this from the sheet I link it from.

To add more, this is to figure margin based on bill rate of a project.

You can use cross-sheet formulas to calculate but not show the details.

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)
