Cross sheet formulas
W e want to bring a Install Date into a sheet from another sheet IF the Job number in the first sheet matches the Job number in the second sheet.
I have used cross sheet references before and this is the formula we have used in the cell (hopefully to soon become a column formula)
In the first sheet, in Install Date Column cell we have typed
=IF([Job Number]@row = {Schedule 5 Range 1}, {Schedule 5 Range 2})
Schedule 5 Range 1 has highlighted the Job Number Column in the second sheet
Schedule 5 Range 2 has highlighted the Install Date Column in the second sheet
it comes up with #INVALID OPERATION
Any help would be great received as the alternative is cell linking....
Thanks
Tracey

Hi @Tracey Tume
Hope you are fine, you can't use IF statement in your case you need to use Vlookup Or Index with Match, Collect Function.
if you like me to fix the formula directly on your sheet please share me as an admin on a sample copy of your sheets ( Source & Destination ) and i will Create the exact formula for you then you can copy it to your original sheet.

Hi @Tracey Tume
I hope you're well and safe!
I'd recommend using an INDEX/MATCH combination instead. (IF won't work)
The formula structure for an INDEX/MATCH combination would look something like this.
=INDEX({ColumnWithTheValueYouWantToShow}; MATCH(CellThatHaveTheValueToMatch@row; {ColumnWithTheValueToMatchAgainsTheCell}; 0))
Depending on your country/region, you'll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.
Did that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic day!
