Text in Gantt chart

How do I change the properties so that the type only shows on the row, and not the gantt chart?

Hi @StaceyZ

If you are referring to the task label in the Gantt chart, then you can change what column is used for this text (or remove the text all together) in the Project Settings window, under "Timeline Display" and then "Display label for":

Thank you Genevieve! Yes, that's exactly what i was looking for. Do you know if you can place markers in the gantt chart, like triangles or circles to mark a specific timepoint?

Hi @StaceyZ

You can create a diamond in the Gantt view by entering a task @Stacee Franewith the Duration of 0. This marks the task as a "milestone", will this work for you?

A shame that we cannot add text on the left side of the bar, like in MS Project. I don't think this would be difficult to implement, but add a ton of value. Indeed in some views the top header of the timeline is very broad (Q3 2022) so it is useful to have the end date for example, as well as the task description. I already put in a request to Smartsheet.
