Dropping day from date format

Hi Smartsheet Community,

I need to report a date field in a report, however the client only wants to report mm-yyyy instead of the full date (dd-mm-yy).

For example, in the fields below they want to report 09/2020 and 04/2021, and 08/2020 and 08/2020 respectively

Is there anyway to drop the day component in another column which I can use for the report?

Hi Jack!

We would have to have an extra column for each date column and select those for the report.

Here are two formulas that might work for you:

MM/YYYY (Adds the Zero when number of month is less than 10)

=IF(MONTH([Baseline Operation Date]@row) < 10, "0" + MONTH([Baseline Operation Date]@row) + "/" + YEAR([Baseline Operation Date]@row), MONTH([Baseline Operation Date]@row) + "/" + YEAR([Baseline Operation Date]@row))

MM/YYYY (If Month is less than 10, date will appear M/YYYY)

MONTH([Current Operational Date]@row) + "/" + YEAR([Current Operational Date]@row)

Here is an example (Formulas placed in the blue cells)
