Returning just one record per name (Talent) showing max total points (Summed Total by Talent)

Hello - trying to determine if this is even possible with my smart sheet. I have multiple rows with the same talent (name) and same max total of points (Summed Total by Talent) as a new row/record is added whenever a form is submitted.

Will i need to add a new column/formula to just return one record with name (Talent) and highest summed point total (Summed Total by Talent)?

You would need to insert a helper checkbox column to check a single entry per person and use that checkbox within a report or sheet filter to only show one of each.

The formula in your screenshot should be doing exactly that.

Yes you are correct - the formula is returning one name (talent) in the summary field points leader. I apologize for not explaining myself clearly.

My problem is how to show one record for each name (talent) with there points total (summed total by talent) without returning multiple records for each name. Since i have multiple records with each name and point total - not sure if i can return one of each - that will allow me to report on this.

this:

Julie G 614

Kent L 550

Josh T 60

instead of:

Julie G 614

Julie G 614

Julie G 614

Kent L 550

Kent L 550

Josh S 60
