Creating Reports from Different Sheet
Hello team, I am trying to create a report from two different sheets. The concern that i am having is that in case i have same Columns in two sheets reports are picking these as two entries rather than single. So what basically i am looking is to create a join so only one row should return rather than multiple. Kindly let me know if possible.

Hi @hammadamjad
A Report can bring together multiple sheets, but each individual row per-sheet will still be an individual row in a Report. This means that if you have "Row 1" in Sheet 1 and "Row 1" in Sheet 2, these are seen as two separate rows in the Report. Here's a free webinar on Reports to explain further.
If you are looking to bring information from one sheet into the other and keep it on the same row, I would recommend looking into Cell Linking (see here), or you could build a Cross-Sheet formula to pull information from one to the other using a Unique Identifier to match the rows.
Should you need help with either of the options above, it would be useful to see a screen capture of both of your sheets with an explanation of what you're looking to do, but please block out sensitive data.
Cheers,
Genevieve

So below is the sample report that i am trying to create. So i am pulling Employee Name from sheet one and ID from Sheet 2. And as you have explained its showing me multiple rows. So what i am trying to do is to show only one row against Batista and John Cena with ID 5678 and 1234 in my New Report.

Hi @hammadamjad
Thank you for explaining further. Since you are looking to combine information from one sheet to another and keep it on the same row, you will need to do this by adding data into a Sheet, not a Report.
I would recommend looking into Cell Linking (see here), or you could build a Cross-Sheet formula to pull information from one to the other using the Employee Name as the Unique Identifier.
Here are other Community questions with examples of how to build those cross-sheet formulas:
- Can you use 2 match criterias in an index/match formula?
- Need a Clear Example of Using INDEX and MATCH
- VLookUp -- Maybe?
Cheers,
Genevieve
