Smartsheet Sorting? why does it not sort correctly?

I have a smartsheet that needs to sort on a date field and it does 'sorta' sort but not 100%. Why is that? How can correct/update/fix so that it sorts correct?

Thank you for your post! Upon reviewing your post, may you confirm if there's hierarchy setup in this sheet? If so, this is an expected behaviour. If you’ve created sub-items, the sub-items will be sorted but kept beneath their parent row. The parent rows will also be sorted but their sub-items will move with them.

If that is not the case, provide us screenshot of the entire sheet (block out sensitive datas) & is there any other date column doing the same behaviour?

I'm having this issue with date sorting. I don't have any hierarchies set up and it's not sorting properly. Any way to fix?

Hi @Nicole D Is your column a Type "Date" column?

And are you applying the sort After additional rows are added or before the rows are added?

Yes, it's a date column. After the rows are added.
