Roll Up of % Complete Question

Good Morning Smartsheet Community:

I was wondering if someone new why based on the screen shot below why the % Completes are not rolling up for the parent row? For example, for the parent task "Request for Quote (RFQ), I have marked two children tasks at 100%, but the parent task says 0% complete when I thought it would show 50% complete. When I mark another child task at 100% it does change the parent task to 99% complete.

Any thoughts or comments?

  • I will only add some thoughts, hopefully someone provides a direct resolution. I would check for hidden columns that may have impact, such as Allocation, Assigned to and Start/Finish dates. I have seen this before, and at least for myself, it was an external factor such as mentioned causing this.

Just a thought, hope it helps.

I had the same issue. Most areas of the sheet rolled up as they should, but one area was showing zero % complete. When I changed the durations of the children rows from zero to some number, then the parent % complete corrected itself.

    Hope that helps!

I have seen this a lot, I have noticed if the Duration is 0 days "Milestone" it will not count the task at the parent row.
