INDEX Function to return an entire Column

Hi. Looking for help using the index function in Smartsheet. In Excel I would use an Array index, notating my row_num = 0, in order to identify the column of the range that I want to return, but Smartsheet gives me a #INVALID COLUMN VALUE error. Any help much appreciated.

    Hi @Joe Kowan

I hope you're well and safe!

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic week!

    Hi @Andrée Starå , @Joe Kowan ,

I have a similar question with the following situation:

First sheet has some questions in columns: quest1, quest2, quest3 with a lot of answers in the rows.

Second sheet should count how many answers are given for each question.

I declared a range with all questions like {all question} in first sheet from second sheet.

The following formula is not working: =COUNTIFS(INDEX({all question};1);<>"")

I think the problem is, that INDEX will return a cell not a column.

How can I retrieve a column from a multidimensional array to solve my issue?

    Thank you, Joachim
