Looking for a formula to create a unique key

I'm looking for a formula such as MD5 to create a unique key where one does not exist naturally in the worksheet data. When combining two or more columns a unique value is possible, but it would be great to have an formula to calculate a representative vale.

You're asking for an algorithm to derive a unique string based on a source string of text? Where that source string will always create that same derived string?

I think you're going need to use the API.

We use Alteryx to prepare lots of data before uploading to Smartsheet. I can use the MD5_ASCII tool in Alteryx to create the unique key. But it would be nice to have the same/similar function available in SS so we could create the key on the fly.
